What is the Weight Lifting Levels Calculator?
The Weight Lifting Levels Calculator is a method to calculate your strength based on your level compared to others. There are five levels which include beginner, novice, intermediate, advanced, and elite.
Who should use it?
The Weight Lifting Calculator is effective for people that are looking to create strength training plans for increasing strength, power, fitness, and muscle building.
How accurate is it?
The formula is not a precise measurement but a proximation of your lifting level compared to the rest of the population. It should be used as a guide to assessing and creating strength training plans.
How should I use it?
You should use your Weight Lifting Level as a guide to set your targets work out targets based on your goals. You should input your body weight and your 1 rep max of the lifting your are measuring. Then compare your body weight ratio to the corresponding lifting level.
The formula is helpful in determining your level and developing a program based on your fitness goals.
For example:
-A beginner level is typically stronger than 5% of lifters. A beginner lifter can perform the movement correctly and has practiced it for at least a month.
-A novice level is typically stronger than 20% of lifters. A novice lifter has trained regularly in the technique for at least six months.
-An intermediate level is typically stronger than 50% of lifters. An intermediate lifter has trained regularly in the technique for at least two years.
-An advanced level is typically stronger than 80% of lifters. An advanced lifter has progressed for over five years.
-An elite level is typically stronger than 95% of lifters. An elite lifter has dedicated over five years to become competitive at strength sports.
